Bob, oh Bob. I have this client named Bob (obviously) and he is fantastic. He has a HUGE heart and is easy to work with, but not a push-over by any stretch. We just closed on his new home last Friday. He wrote the following email to my Broker In Charge, Jennifer. Like I said before, this is the life for me...
Jennifer,
When a colleague at work heard me complaining about my realtor from one of the ‘big brand name’ realtor agencies, he referred me to Spencer Properties which is a so called ‘discount broker’. Well, I can tell you this, Jenn Jones and Spencer Properties was everything but that. My experience in the past with full service brokerage firms is that they aren’t much more than a door openers, and could care little about the important decision you are trying to make when buying a home.
My experience with Jenn Jones @ Spencer Properties was the opposite of that. After looking at several townhomes, I asked Jenn to submit an offer on a place. I asked her to offer a certain amount, and she came back a few hours later with evidence that I was offering too much. She had ‘price per square foot’, ‘comparable sales’, and several other items that suggested I was offering way too much. This was when I figured out this woman was looking out for me and I could trust her.
Here’s what I know about Spencer Properties:
1. Spencer Properties sure doesn’t act like a Discount Broker (by the way-Jennifer Spencer (Broker/Owner came to my closing and helped review the documents)
2. Jenn Jones can be trusted and is the best realtor/agent I’ve ever had, and this is my 5th home purchase/sale.
3. Every time Jenn Jones made a suggestion to me, I saved money and time.
a. Example- when Jenn came from N Raleigh to Morrisville (30-45 minutes) to let me and a mini blind sales person in the home after the offer was accepted but we hadn’t closed, Jenn came in the home and listened to the conversation. Any other realtor would have opened the door and got on the phone and waited until it was time to leave. Jenn listened and at the right time said something that ended up saving me hundreds of dollars.
b. Jenn did every little thing. Except for the bank loan she personally arranged every action from surveys to inspections. She even recommended a bank, a homeowner’s policy company, and someone to build a fence.
The last home I purchased and sold was $425,000 and the realtors didn’t deserve a dollar in commission.
Did I mention that they did all this for a discounted fee on a $150,000 townhome? Jenn Jones made this otherwise stressful event very simple and stress free. I will always recommend Jenn Jones at Spencer Properties.
It wouldn’t surprise me if I saw her out back this weekend with a post hole digger and a bag of cement installing my fence.
