Morrisville

Welcome to Morrisville!

Part of the Research Triangle metropolitan area, the 8.3-square-miles of land that Morrisville sits on was originally the site of a depot, water tower and other buildings for the the North Carolina Railroad back in the 1850s. As time passed, the communities continued to grow around the hub of the depot, and in 1875, the town was officially chartered. While quite a bit has happened between the 1870s and today, Morrisville has maintained its reputation for rich community bonds—with a few extra amenities and things to do thrown in.

A unique mix of small-town charm and big-city perks, Morrisville offers residents the best of both worlds. If you’re in the market for a Wake County home, you should explore what Morrisville has to offer.

Spotlights of Morrisville

Tons of Green Space

Since Morrisville is a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, there are plenty of peaceful natural areas to explore. William B. Umstead Park offers miles of trails and wilderness to explore and is just ten minutes away. The waterfront views and walking paths of Lake Crabtree are only five minutes down the road, and smaller community parks like Cedar Fork are scattered throughout the city.

Bustling Community Calendar

Annual events, seasonal celebrations, holiday festivities—the Morrisville events schedule is consistently filled with things to do. Some of the can't-miss events of the year include Springfest, the July 3rd Fireworks, the East Meets West food festival, and the annual tree lighting in December. In addition to yearly events, the town also offers more regular events, like live music and gatherings in the park.

Convenient Location

Working in Raleigh, Cary, Durham, or another Triangle location? Morrisville conveniently sits near all of the major hubs in the area. Thanks to I-40 and I-540 running right outside of town, Raleigh is only 20 minutes away, Cary just under 10, and Durham a little over 20. Whether you're commuting every day for work or just looking to get to know a new area, Morrisville's location makes traveling simple and easy.
