Raleigh Will Steal Your Heart

North Carolina’s capital city is home to a myriad of historic sites, museums, parks, and schools. From magnificent architecture to meandering natural trails, Raleigh has it all, and then some.

A Historic North Carolina City

The city was named after Sir Walter Raleigh and became North Carolina’s government hub in 1792. Downtown Raleigh’s historic landmarks and sites include the State Capitol building, Haywood Hall House and Gardens, Mordecai Historic Park, and more.

Charming Local Culture

Raleigh has dozens of museums, restaurants, and modern marvels. The Contemporary Art Museum, which opened in 2011, boasts new and emerging art and design exhibitions. Another new facility, the James B. Hunt Library at nearby NC State University, made Business Insider’s list of the coolest college libraries in the US. The North Carolina Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural Sciences are also great places to visit.

Kings Barcade hosts local and national artists, game nights, and other fun late-night attractions. For unique dining experiences, restaurants like The Angus Barn or St. Jacques French Cuisine are favorites.

Great for Commuters

Major roads like I-40 and US-1 pass through Raleigh, making trips to major cities like Charlotte, Richmond, and Wilmington easy. For destinations across the country or across the world, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is a short trip down the highway.

The renowned Research Triangle Park in Durham is just thirty minutes from the heart of Raleigh, making the city a great place for commuters.
