Rolesville: A Charming Wake County Community
Nestled in beautiful landscape right outside Raleigh, this Wake County community has a small-town feel with access to the big city amenities of the Triangle. Rolesville is the second oldest town in Wake County, but is one of the fastest growing towns in the state of North Carolina. This suburban community is quickly gaining popularity thanks to a high quality of life, ultra-convenient location, and beautiful but affordable housing.
A Brief History of Rolesville
The town of Rolesville was named after William H. Roles, who was a local land owner, merchant, cotton broker, cotton gin owner, and postmaster. Mr. Roles must have been a very popular or very powerful (or both!) fellow to have the town named in his honor.
The Rolesville community began as a humble farming locality. Today, many of the large family farms are still cultivated, but much of the land has been developed into residential and commercial subdivisions. Ever-increasing growth has spurred the opening of more local restaurants, healthcare centers, pharmacies, and many other indispensable services and establishments.
Ideal Location in the Triangle
Rolesville is only 15 miles from downtown Raleigh and 25 miles from RDU International Airport and Research Triangle Park, allowing everything from daily commutes to international travel plans to unfold with ease. With easy access to several major roadways, residents are only a short drive away from all of the cultural, recreational, and shopping and dining options the Triangle has to offer.
Additionally, residents of Rolesville are only a short drive away from several top-rated higher education institutes, including:
- NC State University
- Duke University
- UNC Chapel Hill
- Wake Tech Community College
- Meredith College
